Talented chef and raw food advocate Shima Shimizu is offering you the opportunity to connect with your food, your health and the land, by learning more about local product and organic farming in Hong Kong. You’ll be whisked to stunning Happeace Island, an untouched village-island on Lantau accessible only by boat. The island is home to 6 organic farmers, the perfect place to discover locally grown organic food that tastes better and is better for you. All sessions are hosted in English.
Upon arrival, you’ll be treated to welcome drinks, an orientation of the island and an introduction to organic farming. Shima will also host a raw food cooking demo to get your mouth watering. The morning is spent working side-by-side with the farmers, planting and harvesting crop such as okra, radish, corn and sweet potato. Then it’s off to the clubhouse for a delicious vegetarian lunch made with locally grown organic ingredients and some free time!
During the long break, you can wander the island surrounded by clear water, blue skies and the fresh breeze, go fishing on the pier or even partake in some wakeboarding, banana boating, windsurfing or kayaking (at an additional fee). There’s even a firefly museum, where fireflies are bred as a natural method of controlling common garden pests. A perfect day for foodies and nature enthusiasts ends with another delectable ‘Easy Cooking’ demo from Shima, and the chance to purchase some of your favourite locally grown produce. Not a bad way to learn about natural, clean food at its nutritional and palatable peak!

Day Schedule
- 08:45 - Meet at Central Pier 5 for Fast Ferry to Cheung Chau
- 09:55 – Board boat to Happeace Island
- 10:20 - Welcome drinks, organic snacks and island orientation
- 10:30 – introduction to organic farming
- 10:40 - Farmland tour, experience the joy of farming!
- 12:10 - Organic vegetarian lunch
- 13:40 – Free time, relax on the beach, swim or fish. Wake boarding, Banana boat, Windsurfing and Kayaking is available by request at an additional fee
- 16:20 - Easy Cooking raw food demo by Shim, farming Q&A session, photo and shopping time
- 17:30 – Return boat trip to Cheung Chau Pier
- 18:00 - Fast Ferry Depart to Central Pier
- 18:40 – Drop off at Central Pier
