| WHY WE LIKE IT... Want to know what stand-up paddle board (SUP) is? Well, it was invented in Hawai and is the predecessor of surfing; it is also called “Beach Boy Surfing”. Basically, you stand up on your board and you use the paddles to manoeuvre. But there is some technique to it and it can get quite physical. SUP is a superior core workout on both flat water and amongst the waves. It is an ideal sport for cross training as it brings together legs, back, feet, arms, neck and stomach muscles in a graceful display of core strength and balance. It is a great experience and a sport, which lends itself well for those who want both a cardio, balance and strength workout. Stand up paddling encompasses core muscle action and it helps build core muscle balance and support. But most importantly it’s great fun! Many Hollywood celebrities have adopted it because it’s both exciting and a great work-out.
