KA ATELIER, the studio of local artist KA, is a bright, creative space hidden amidst the artistic Star Street area of St Francis Yard. The funky, yet intimate venue offers creative workshops, exhibitions and parties inspired by their “paint on anything” philosophy – be it canvases, ceramics or everyday objects.
For just HK$149, you’ll enjoy a special 2.5 hour workshop created with Valentine’s Day in mind, focusing on wine, art, and all the good things in life. Workshops run until 31 March and are kept small on purpose, with a maximum of 8 people per session. Begin by tasting famously fragrant wines from France, Spain, Argentina, Germany, Chili or Italy. While the notes of each vintage linger, learn what inspired renowned artists from the respective regions to create their epic masterpieces.
With your creative juices churning, you’ll then have the chance to turn out your very own artwork on provided canvases or old wine bottles, drawing an array of paints and decorative pieces. If you’re not up to Da Vinci’s standards just yet, don’t worry; there will be an introduction to the techniques and equipment you can use, as well as artistic guidance throughout your session.
