| WHY WE LIKE IT... We all know that Stanley has much more to offer than the market’s Kath Kidston copies and oversized artwork, so we think it’s time we explored the area a little more closely... and for a really unique way to experience the south side coast, join HK Aqua-Bound Centre (HKABC) for a guided sea tour of Stanley Peninsula by kayak! Aim for a warm sunny day and this will be a really relaxing group day out; paddling on the sea, seeing the lush hillsides, blue waters and sandy coves... The tour begins on Stanley Main Beach with an introduction to the kayaking equipment and an informative kayak and safety lesson. Once you are comfortable and ready, you’ll launch from the beach to begin the 3-4 mile round trip along the coastline of Stanley Peninsula, enjoying views of Stanley Prison Hostel and swimming in the waters by Tung Tau Wan or Pak Sha Wan beach. For those of you who are already keen kayakers, this tour is a great way to further improve your kayaking skills. Out tip: If you are expecting a visit from some outdoorsy friends who imagine that HK is nothing more than shops and malls and market stalls, then this is the perfect way to show them the other green and vibrant side of the island! With spectacular coastal views and the guide’s detailed information about the surrounding region, they’ll soon realise that HK is full of natural life too! |
