Known in ancient China as the "Stone of Heaven", Jade is believed to protect the spirit from the negative elements. After studying traditional jade pendant designs, SENZANOME Creative Director, Giulio Zecchini, has harmonised this powerful cultural symbol with Western aesthetic, creating jewels with a modern and unique design. Each limited edition piece is unique with a serial number and certificate from Hong Kong Jade & Stones Laboratory, which shows it is genuine jadeite.
In October 2011, after 4 months of development, SENZANOME launched the new Jade Coin Collections, combining the most precise Italian craftsmanship with technology and experience.
The new jewel, which comes in natural colour, is made of the precious genuine Type A Natural Jadeite from Burma and 18K gold. The new combinations of gold rings and 100 per cent silk cords create more variations when twisted and combined in new colors and forms.
SENZANOME is born from gathering of Zecchini's passion for Jade's symbolism and beauty and Memo Ozdogan's business oriented mind. Each limited edition piece is unique with a serial number and certificate from Hong Kong Jade & Stones Laboratory, which shows it is genuine jadeite. The first collections have been launched in September 2010 in Hong Kong and soon it has captivating the attention of admirers and press from all over the world. Amongst those it has been mentioned in the new Louis Vuitton city guide and in "100 things to see in Hong Kong" guide.
SENZANOME jewels are designed and hand-crafted in Italy using certified Type A Natural Jadeite from Burma and 18K gold. Every single piece of Jade is handpicked from the raw stone and carefully carved following their natural design. Every jewel of SENZANOME collections is unique and produced in limited edition: Jade's colours, transparencies and textures change considerably from one piece to another and each stone shape is one-of-a-kind.
Each SENZANOME piece is inset with a mobile ring of 18-carat gold, symbolizing the eternal dance of the contrary forces of a concept in Chinese culture - Yin and Yang. In Chinese philosophy, the concept of yin yang is used to describe how polar or seemingly contrary forces are interconnected and interdependent in the natural world, and how they give rise to each other in turn, in a never ending movement of transformation.
A nine-side central hole of SENZANOME Jade Coins also carries a special meaning in the Chinese culture. As the greatest of single-digit numbers, the number nine was historically associated with the Emperor of China: the Emperor's robes often had nine dragons and Chinese mythology held that the dragon has nine children. Moreover, the number 9, jiu, sounds same as the word for "long lasting", and as such is often used in weddings.
