| WHY WE LIKE IT... All that glitters and glamor! Get behind the sparkle, learn about the gems and create your own masterpiece of fine jewellery. Today we are introducing you to a hidden gem, Hatton Studios, with 50% off their 4-week course: Introduction to the Art of Fine Jewellery Making. Learn to design and make fine jewellery, enhance existing skills or open up new avenues for your creative side. The course consists in 4 classes of 2.5 hours each, one evening per week (or afternoon dependent on demand) i.e. it takes 4 weeks to complete the course. You will learn the art of silversmithery, goldsmithery and fine jewellery design. The course offers a fun and social environment in which to learn the basics of professional jewellery making. By the end of the course you will have your own finished piece of sterling silver jewellery that you will have completed yourself using skills from soldering, hammering and piercing to polishing, drilling and basic gemstone setting. No previous experience is necessary and all tools and materials are included in the course fee. The course itself will be taught by Melville Fine Jewellery’s creative director, Nathalie Melville, at Hatton Studios in the heart of Sheung Wan. Hatton Studios opens for business in January 2012, offering jewellery making, silversmithery, goldsmithery and design courses to the fashion hungry people of Hong Kong. |
